Before booking an intimate male wax here are some things you might like to know.
How long should the hair be before I book in for my first wax?
From last shaving we recommend that you leave it 3 weeks regrowth to get the best results. We would then recommend coming back 3 weeks later. Following this its recommended you book in every 4-6 weeks depending on speed of hair growth.
Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my wax?
It is good to lightly exfoliate the area a couple of times a week and moisturise daily to help reduce any ingrown hairs.
Please make sure you shower/bath before the wax and put on clean underwear.
On the day of your treatment try not to use to many products as this may affect the wax.
What will happen when I arrive for my treatment?
When you booked your appointment, you would have been sent a consultation form to fill out online, this needs to be completed prior to your appointment. Your therapist will read through your form pre treatment.
Once on the treatment room, your therapist will leave so you can undress, clean yourself (if having an intimate wax) and make yourself comfortable on the treatment couch. There will be a towel to cover yourself once your undressed to protect your modesty.
Your therapist will knock on the door to check your ready then come in and your treatment will commence.
Will I need to remove my underwear?
Yes, if you’re having an intimate wax your need to remove your underwear.
Will it be embarrassing having an intimate wax?
We certainly wont feel embarrassed at this point, and there no need for you to either. Our team has carried out so many intimate waxes that we can assure you we have seen it all before.
Will it hurt?
If you are new to waxing and have previously shaved, we would be lying if we said it wasn’t uncomfortable. The first wax will always feel like the worst but if you keep up the maintenance then it will feel like an easier treatment.
Pain thresholds on people are different but our therapists are trained in techniques that minimalize the discomfort.
We use a hot wax system (Perron Rigot), before applying the wax we use an oil on the skin as a barrier, the hot wax shrink wraps around the hair rather than stick aggressively to the skin.
What do I need to do after my wax?
After your wax its important to following the homecard advise for 24-48 hours.
- Do not have hot shower/bath
- Do not go swimming, or have a sauna
- Do not have sex
- Try to avoid tight clothing in the area
- Imbetween your treatments exfoliate and moisturise
